EMR Investment

Implementing an Electronic Medical Records system is expensive, but the potential impact on patient care and the overall profitability of your practice could be even more significant.  Let us help you make that investment.

That's why we've come up with our EMR Investment Program.  We can help you invest in an EMR, allowing your practice to take advantage of this great technology much sooner than you would have thought possible.  We have experience in implementing and hosting two of the best EMR systems in the marketplace, Healthmatics from A4 Health Systems and Centricity from GE Healthcare.

Here's three value propositions on how we can help:

1) There is not doubt that there is a significant investment necessary in purchasing  and implementing an EMR.  A recent study by Health Affairs and the MGMA put the average cost to purchase an EMR at $38k-$44k per physician, and that's without purchasing all of the servers and infrastructure to support the systems.  MedSolve has the ability to help finance the purchase of the two EMR systems identified above (although our preference is for the A4 Healthmatics EMR).  Depending on the size of the practice, MedSolve can offer direct investment or investment credits to help finance the purchase of the EMR in return for a 4-5 year deal to minimally outsource the billing, collections and A/R management to us.  Our investment is proportional to the size of the practice and number of providers in the practice, and can result in significant assistance in purchasing the EMR. 

2) Given that the majority of EMR vendors offer their respective systems largely on a purchased basis rather than on a subscription basis, MedSolve can provide the hosting services and ongoing care so that physicians don't have to worry about the technology.  A recent study by Health Affairs and the MGMA put the annual cost for maintenance and support of EMR systems at an annual average of $10k-$12k per physician.  We can host your system for a lot less.

3) The ability to access your EMR, anytime and from anywhere is going to be critical for patient care.  With our recently introduced Physician Informatics Portal, we can provide universal access for physicians into their EMR from a highly secure internet connection, anytime and from anywhere.  As long as the physician has access to an internet connection, whether that be at the hospital on rounds using their tablet hooked into the hospital wi-fi network back through our portal into the EMR, or away on vacation and getting called in an emergency and allowing the physician to easily access their patient's electronic record from a readily available internet connection.   We facilitate  the ability of  anytime, anywhere for your practice.

We provide 24/7 monitoring along with multiple levels of security, redundancy and backup to comply with HIPAA guidelines. MedSolve's data center resides in a secure access and temperature controlled environment (24 hour temperature and access control alarm monitoring via 3rd party), with fully independent and redundant power supplied by our own back up emergency generator.

Our application servers are custom-built for MedSolve to our performance specifications using Intel Xeon processors and Microsoft operating systems.

The core of our network runs on an integrated Cisco solution that is fully redundant in a fail-over mode to include switches, firewalls, routers, and VPN concentrators. Internet connectivity is established via 4 -T1 lines with two different ISP providers running full route BGP to provide complete fail-over protection.

We secure our network access through the use of Secure Computing's SafeWord single-use password technology, while our Anti-Virus protection suite is Symantec's Corporate Edition to provide real time threat monitoring and eradication of virus attacks.  Back-ups are fully redundant by performing a full data center back-up to both disk and tape every night.

Ntierprise is one of the leading systems in the marketplace and provides a complete set of practice management capabilities including patient registration, scheduling, charge entry, payment posting and advanced reporting.
   

IN-DEPTH CLAIMS EDITING & PROCESSING

MedSolve goes well beyond providing practice management software – we offer execution expertise to make sure you get the highest levels of reimbursement possible. Once your practice inputs charge entry information, either manually or via an automated interface from the EMR, our software performs multiple edits on the claim to check for correct coding combinations, general compliance and over 650 payer-specific requirements.
   

ONLINE TRACKING & CALL CENTER COLLECTIONS

Once the claim is edited, scrubbed and sent electronically, we maintain on-line tracking that is updated by participating payers daily with up-to-the-minute status reports on claims. Our collection specialists then begin the process of persistent follow-up with the payers on delayed claims to insure prompt and complete payment.
   

AUTOMATED PROCESS, INCLUDING ELECTRONIC REMITS

Our electronic Medicare module allows for the submission of claims as well as electronic adjudication, e-transfer of funds, EOB posting, and secondary billing in a completely automated transaction.  We are expanding this successful program to include most of the payers in our territory, including the BCBS programs.

REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT PROCESS

Medsolve_rcm_process_page_1We have designed a billing and collections methodology to transform the overall revenue cycle process, streamline the workflow, and ensure that claims are paid quickly and accurately from the beginning.  There are multiple levels of scrubbing within our revenue cycle management process resulting in 95% clean claims going through in the first pass.
 

BENEFITS TO YOU

  • Daily claims submissions to all payers, unlike traditional billing companies who do this on a weekly basis.
  •  Real-time processing of your claims.
  •  Claims are scrubbed twice for missing or improperly completed fields before they are submitted to the payers, thereby reducing the number of rejected claims. Traditional billing and collection companies typically act as mail delivery services, sending the claim as it was received from the practice.
  •  Reduction of most expenses currently associated with the Accounts Receivables function (i.e. staffing, HFCA forms, stationery, postage and telephone).
